If you’re a photographer or videographer and you haven’t heard of ClickCon, then I’m about to blow your mind. ClickCon is hands down my favorite photography conference in the US. It’s interactive, fun, creative, and best of all, it gives me an opportunity to meet with thousands of fellow wedding photographers. If you’re on the fence about attending ClickCon’s 2021 conference, keep reading to learn more about the four-day event, including a few reasons why I’ve come to love it so much.

 

What is ClickCon all about?

This is probably the first question on your mind. As someone who  (and who just so happens to be a scheduled speaker at their 2021 conference), I’m happy to answer this question for you. In essence, ClickCon is a four-day photography and videography learning experience (emphasis on the “learning” part). However, the reality is that it’s so much more than that. Unlike other photography conferences in the US, ClickCon is entirely dedicated to helping professional creatives like me gain new skills. Whether you’ve just started your own business or are an industry vet, you’ll still have plenty to gain by attending ClickCon. From lectures to demonstrations to hands-on shooting, there are learning opportunities of all kinds at ClickCon. 

 

What can I expect if I attend ClickCon?

At ClickCon, you can expect to brush shoulders with some of the leading professionals in the industry, to learn from the instructors, as well as your fellow creatives, and to be endlessly inspired. For me, ClickCon’s ability to teach and inspire comes down to the extensive variety of classes they offer. There are classes of all levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), covering all sorts of topics, from posing and lighting to editing and marketing. There are also a range of teaching styles, from lectures to photo walks that put you in the field. There are even tech demos if you’re looking for the latest feature for your camera, plenty of parties where you can get dressed up and network, and of course, an awesome swag bag! Ultimately, like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it with ClickCon. There are TONS of incredible, interactive learning experiences available to all attendees, but it’s up to you to do the work over the course of four days. But if you do the work, trust me when I say that whatever expectations you come into ClickCon with, they’re going to be blown out of the water.

 

Where is the next ClickCon conference being held?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ClickCon 2020 had to be postponed. However, it has already been rescheduled for 2021, and the location is none other than Chicago (otherwise known as the land of deep dish pizza, the Cubs, and the Art Institute of Chicago). Honestly, Chicago is one of my favorite cities, not only as a tourist but as a photographer. There is so much beauty in the Windy City. And at ClickCon, you’ll get to explore it all. There are several conference sessions that take place in different locations all over the city. For example, they have already confirmed that there will be outdoor photo shoots throughout the conference, which will take place in over 20 locations. These include the North Avenue Beach & Pier, Agora Sculptures, Formal Gardens, Wrigley Building, the Canal Riverwalk, and much more!
