These celebrity couples tell us about life’s simple pleasures and what they’re enjoying every day.

by - April 01, 2020

Social Distancing due to Coronavirus and the bright side of being with each other 24 X 7! These couples tell us about life’s simple pleasures and what they’re enjoying every day.

Aishwarya Sakhuja (Saas Bina Sasural) and Rohit Nag (Producer and Casting Director)
Rohit pulls Aishwarya’s leg and quips: “Aishwarya takes a lot of effort to motivate me to learn more about fitness through videos on Youtube and I happily oblige”. Aishwarya adds, “There is so much to do in the house itself, the day goes by in a flash. And it’s funny how suddenly we have discovered how much needs to be done (cleaning and sorting) inside the house itself. We’ve found a good way to figure out who does the dishes too- we gamble on ludo, and whoever loses has to do it.”

Akanksha Chamola (Swaragini) and Gaurav Khanna (Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan)
Akanksha talks about her experience at home, “Much before the house arrest, Gaurav and I were comfortable being home birds as well as spending time outdoors- the kitchen, movies, gym and sports. Now that we are homebound, we spend time working out, cooking new recipes and cleaning the house. As pet parents, we divide and take turns cleaning, feeding and walking our fur baby. Gaurav has started painting and I have resumed my dance practice.”

Ishita Dutta (Drishyam) and Vatsal Sheth (Taarzan: The Wonder Car)
Vatsal shares, “Now, we have all the time in the world to do the things that we’ve always wanted to do. Ishita is an amazing painter and now that she has more time on her hands, she has let her creativity flow. I’ve always been fascinated by the flute and recently started learning it, thanks to YouTube. There are also some really interesting online courses that I’ve enrolled in, one of them being ‘emotional intelligence’. Since we both possess artistic minds, and when you lock two creative people in one room some craziness is bound to overflow. TikTok has led us to create some really funny videos which have gotten a great response. We’re also in the process of making a short film from home with the help of our friends. Honestly, it’s all about keeping yourself busy and there are so many things you can do if you really want to.”

Jannat Khan and Ayaz Khan (Dill Mill Gayye)
Ayaz shares, “We’ve found some meaning with household chores and we help each other with cleaning, dusting, and cooking. I’ve also started making videos on TikTok and we enjoy watching movies and playing games like Uno and Ludo. Yes, this lockdown has kept all of us home but it’s important we remain patient and look at the positive side. There’s plenty of quiet time, less pollution, and more appreciation towards the beautiful sunrise and sunset. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel and remember, this too shall pass.”

Kishwer Merchant (Ek Hasina Thi) and Suyyash Rai (Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya)
Kishwer shares, “We spend most of our time cooking, connecting with our followers on social media, and playing with our fur babies (Batuk and Pablo).

She adds, “It is also a great feeling to stay more connected with our families and closest friends through video calls. And who knew going out for grocery shopping would be so much fun.”

Nikhila Palat (PR Professional) and Vivan Bhatena (Dangal)
Vivan, hopeful of resuming shooting very soon, shares, “We have a full-time job with our little baby Nivaya who’s at a stage where she is doing her best to get into trouble. During our (not so) free time, we squeeze in workouts and catch up on some good movies we’ve missed. By the time we are done with all this, we’re already hitting midnight.” The duo shares, “I think this lockdown has taught us to be independent and feel confident to face any curveball thrown at us.”

Palak Purswani (Meri Hanikarak Biwi) and Avinash Sachdev (Chotti Bahu)
Palak shares, “I’m learning to cook as Avinash is a big foodie and always wanted me to prepare butter chicken for him. Netflix also has been a lifesaver as we’ve been binge-watching something new daily. Avinash also tried his hand at making the trending, insta-worthy dalgona coffee as he knows that coffee is the answer to my mood swings!”

Tanaya Gupta (Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma) and Suraj Panjabi
Tanaya and her husband found a unique way to celebrate their first wedding anniversary amidst the lockdown. She shares, “We had nothing planned for the special day. But my husband decided to surprise me with an impromptu date beneath the stars on our building terrace, and it swept me off my feet. It was a beautiful ‘quarantine special’ anniversary date.”
