With the crème-de-la-crème of the Indian Hospitality sector in attendance, this grand Jaipur wedding was a celebration of true Indian luxury
Jaipur has always been alluring for couples dreaming of a true royal wedding.
Fascinating décor, grand festivities and a guest list that included the crème-de-la-crème of the Hospitality Industry, were the highlights at the nuptials of Nikita and Anish, son of Anuraag Bhatnagar, hospitality industry veteran and currently the Chief Operating Officer at The Leela Hotels, Resorts and Palaces.
How they met
Corporate sales professionals Anish and Nikita met and bonded amidst school council discussions and campus festivals. Sparks flew and soon their friendship blossomed into a relationship. After dating for six years, they knew they were meant to be together. Anish’s proposal on a hilltop cabana at the W hotel in Goa was met with a heartfelt “Yes!” by Nikita.
Wedding Venue
Anish shares, “We chose Jaipur for its grandeur, the hospitality and its long-standing history of hosting the most spectacular weddings. Both the families desired a destination winter wedding that defined royalty, and Jaipur was the best option logistically for planning as well as travelling guests.” The pre-wedding functions were held at Rajasthali Resorts & Spa with the picturesque views of the Aravallis, while the wedding was hosted at Le Meridien Jaipur.
Wedding Planning
The couple entrusted the planning and execution of their #AniKiNikki wedding to Angel Events, while every precious moment of the celebrations were immortalized by Chhavi Digital Photography. The bride and groom were given magnificent visages by Indu from Makeover By Indu, while the groom was styled by Henna Akhtar.
Wedding Functions
Kite Flying
The celebrations kicked off with a vibrant kite flying party hosted at the Sungrill Terrace that overlooked the lush green lawns of the resort. The high energy music combined with the traditional beats of the dhol created a fabulous ambience for guests from both sides to mingle and aptly set the tone for the next three days.

Cocktail
Hosted at the Maurya Lawns, the stylish cocktail soiree was the first glimpse of the luxury that the coming functions would entail. The intricate Rajasthani motifs reflective of the royal history of the iconic resort in the backdrop, juxtaposed with the contemporary and chic euphoria of the evening. The bespoke decor of black and gold, a delectable feast and the guests bedecked in elegant western attire added oomph to the evening that culminated with the thrilling performance by Urban Turban and DJ Ganesh and his Team.
Haldi
The poolside Haldi festivity in myriad hues of yellow was truly a sun kissed celebration. The subtle fragrance of the turmeric and blooming marigold blending with an eclectic ensemble of Dhols and the DJ got everyone in a joyous mood. The rituals were followed by an exciting rain dance that everyone enjoyed to the fullest.
Mehndi
The Haldi was followed by a colorful and buoyant Mehndi function hosted in the lush Aravalli lawns. The ceremony unfolded with beautiful dancers twirling and dancing to traditional tunes.
Sangeet
The Sangeet was a momentous occasion set up to resemble a traditional Rajasthani fair with camel rides, tarot card reading, souvenir stalls, food kiosks and more, set up on the lush green lawns. The friends and families of the couple vowed them with memorable performances, before Shreyas Patkar and Abhiruchi Singh left everyone mesmerized by their performance.
Wedding
Hosted at Le Meridien, the nuptials festivities were a celebration of the couple’s bond and journey over the years. A vintage car and golden chariot entry for the bride and groom respectively, and a grand baraat led by elephants and horses draped with finery set the tone of luxury and royalty that flowed through the entire event. With the who’s who of the Indian Hospitality sector and other notable guests such as Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, celebrity designers Pria Kataria Puri, Rohit Kamra, Abhishek Kamra, socialite Dr. Geetanjali Saxena, Nisha Jamwal, Prahlad and Mitali Kakkar and many more graced the event, it was an occasion of unforgettable opulence.
