Just Married

With a traditional mela theme, Pranav and Arushi’s engagement bash was a fun affair

by - April 24, 2020

Arushi and Pranav first met at a party where he spilled his drink on her. Little did they know back then that it would lead them to getting engaged down the road. Held in the lush property of The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, New Chandigarh, their engagement ceremony was captured in beautiful frames by WeddingSutra Favorite – Vintage Films.

Arushi shares, “Our story started at a time when I was back home from college and attended a party where Pranav was present. He instantly caught my attention for his clumsy behavior and he accidentally spilled a drink on my clothes. We got talking, and he messaged me the next day to make up for it by taking me out, and from there on, there was no looking back.”

“A few weeks after our roka, Pranav surprised me with the sweetest proposal just before our family lunch. His brother asked me to meet Pranav at the Taj Hotel and said he had a meeting at the place and wanted us to leave together. As soon as I stepped out of the lift, the entire poolside was decorated with balloons and flowers. He went down on his knees and recited my favourite song’s lyrics ‘Grow Grey and Old’ with him.’”

The outdoor daytime engagement party had a ‘mela’ (traditional Indian street fair) theme, and the venue was decorated with crystals and bright flowers. Pranav and Arushi were at their stylish best wearing muted tones. She opted for a pastel pink and mint green lehenga by Falguni Shane Peacock, while Pranav donned a mint green Manish Malhotra kurta and pant set with beautiful embroidery.

Talking about their experience of working with the Vintage Films team, Arushi shares, “One thing that Pranav and I unanimously agreed upon was to get candid pictures clicked to relive our lovely engagement moments. Rakesh and his team efficiently recreated what we had envisioned. They were prompt, cooperative and provided us with the beautifully edited images within a few days after the function. They are extremely creative and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
